Mercedes Sprinter No-Drill B-Pillar Lagun Mount Installation
- T45 Torx Bit — For the factory D-Ring bolt (2019+ VS30 models)
- 10mm Wrenches or Sockets — Two required for the M6 seat base hardware
- 13mm Wrench or Socket — For the M8 Lagun bracket hardware
- Phillips Screwdriver — For the Lagun bracket bolts
- For NCV3 Models (Pre-2019) only — Power drill and 1/4" (6mm) metal drill bit
Remove the D-Ring
Locate the factory D-Ring at the bottom of your B-Pillar. Use the T45 Torx to remove the bolt.
CRITICAL: While you will reuse the factory M8 bolt, do not reuse the factory spacer (the thick metal shim behind the D-ring). Reinstalling this spacer will cause improper alignment. The D-ring itself may be reused between the bolt head and the mount if desired, but it is not required.
NCV3 Note: Some older vans may not have a D-ring or bolt. If yours is missing, source an M8 bolt for this mounting point.
Identify Seat Base Holes
- VS30 (2019+): Locate the two factory holes on the rear, outboard side of your seat base.
- NCV3 (2007–2018): These vans typically do not have factory holes. Use the mount as a template in Step 3 to mark and drill your own.
Tip: Assemble the entire stack loosely on a workbench before bolting to the van. This makes alignment much easier.
Identify Orientation
- Lagun Side — The face with the larger M8 holes is where your Lagun bracket attaches
- Seat Base Side — The side with the smaller M6 slots mounts to the van's seat base
Determine Side (Driver vs. Passenger)
- Passenger Side: The foot of the flat L-shaped part and the open mouth of the U-shaped part should point RIGHT
- Driver Side: The foot of the flat L-shaped part and the open mouth of the U-shaped part should point LEFT
Combine the Plates
- Place the flat L-shaped part behind the front face (inside) of the U-shaped part
- The L-bracket should be tucked inside the U-shape with the front face of the U-part as the outermost surface facing you
- Align the holes on the U-shape with the long slot on the L-shape
- The open side of the U-shape should face the B-Pillar
Choose Your Height (Narrow Mount on High Base Only)
- Standard (Lower) Height — Align all three round holes of the U-shape with the slot on the L-shape. Run three bolts through the entire assembly.
- Extended (Maximum) Height — Slide the U-shape upward so only two holes align with the slot. Run the lower two bolts through the entire sandwich. The top bolt runs through the Narrow Lagun bracket and U-shaped part only. Ideal for vans with aftermarket swivels or high bases.
Attach Lagun Bracket
Place your Lagun Mounting Bracket against the assembly and align the holes. Insert M8 bolts through the bracket and aluminum plates. Use washers on the back side before the nylock nuts. Snug but do not fully torque yet.
Wide/Standard Bracket: Use the included adapter plate in front of the U-shaped part. Secure the two bolts closest to the B-pillar through all three pieces. The other two bolts go through the bracket and adapter only.
- Place the assembly against the B-Pillar and thread the M8/Torx bolt back into the D-Ring hole. Leave it loose.
- Align the mount to your chosen height configuration (see Step 2)
Positioning & Drilling
- VS30 (2019+): Align the mount slots with the factory seat base holes
- NCV3 (Pre-2019): Level the mount and use the slots as a guide to mark hole locations. Remove the mount and drill two 1/4" holes through the sheet metal of the seat base
- Insert the included M6 bolts through the mount and into the seat base
- From inside the seat base via the plastic access door, place a washer onto the M6 threads then thread on the nylock nut
Tighten in this order:
- Seat base first — Tighten M6 hardware with your 10mm tools
- B-Pillar second — Torque the D-Ring bolt down firmly
- Lagun bracket last — Ensure the bracket is aligned, then torque the M8 nylock nuts with your 13mm socket and Phillips screwdriver
Slide your Lagun arm onto the bracket, adjust to your desired height, and you're ready to go.
